SOUTH FEATHERSTON
SCHOOL PICNIC ATHLETIC SPORTS & SWIMMING (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual picnic of the South Featherston school was held on the school grounds on Friday, there being a large attendance of parents, friends and children. Rex Leighton 2, Desmond Willis 3. 22 yds, junior boys, Maru Ahipene 1, Peter Ahipene 2, Jimmy Ahipene 3. 22 yds senior girls, Marie Burt 1. Janice Mclvor 2, Maureen Guthrie 3. 22yds junior girls, Anne Willis 1, Joy Gain 2. 10yds, boys, Sid Mellish 1, Pat Garrit 2, Gordon Leighton 3. 10yds, girls, Janet Mellish 1, Shirley Lewis 2. The ladies’ chain-stepping was won by Mrs G. Cuff, Mrs Fenwick being second. In the men’s chain stepping Mr R. Jepsen was first. The ladies’ naildriving was won by Mrs Mellish with Mrs Hocquard second, and the men's nail-driving by Mr Leighton, Mr Garrit being second.
