STATE THEATRE

DOUBLE PROGRAMME. There will be an- excellent double feature programme shown tonight, well up to the high standard of the mid-week presentations at the Slate Theatre. The management make a feature of providing pictures not only of a high class but of a type that will meet the desires of picture patrons in the strenuous times which arc at present being experienced. In this connection, "The Devil With Hitler” gives patrons a comedy much above the usual run of such pictures. It is said that it is comedy which "bounces the Axis on the canvas and fires more than a machine-gun.” The chief roles are excellently handled by Alan Mowbray, Bobbie Watson and Marjorie Woodworth, and they “sock the Axis with a million laughs,” states the management. The associate picture, "Undercover Man,” is a thrilling drama with a clever plot, featuring Bill Boyd.
