DROUGHT CONDITIONS
REFLECTED IN STOCK SALE PRICES. VALUES AT EKETAHUNA YESTERDAY. Tne Wairarapa Stock and Station Agents’ Association report having held a sale of lambs at Eketahuna yesterday, when a large yarding was submitted. Outside competition was lacking but a fair sale resulted, the prices realised reflecting the prevailing drought conditions rather than the quality of the lambs which were looking particularly well. Lambs showing up in size and condition met 'with fair competition but carry-over lambs were neglected owing to the doubtful outlook of the feed position. Small lots of cull lambs changed hands at satisfactory prices. The range of prices was as follows: — Fat and forward 4-th. wethers, 21s, 20s 8d; b.f. rape lambs, 15s 7d, 13s 4d, 12s 9d, 12s 2d: medium b.f., 8s 3d to 10s; small do., 6s 3d to 7s 9d; well grown shorn w.f. wether lambs, 15s 9d, 15s Bcl, 15s 7d, 14s 9d to 12s 2d; medium shorn w.f. wether lambs. 8s to 10s 66; good ewe lambs, 14s to 12s; cull ewes and wether lambs, 3s 2d. 4s, 5s 9d to Cs 3d.
