PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr and Mrs H. Lyford (Lower Hutt) and Miss Askew (Wellington) are the guests of Mrs E. F. Lyford, Tauhereriikau. Mr J. Ayres, Trentham, is visiting Mr and Mrs G. Hyland, Totaranui. Mr and Mrs J. B. Ritchie (Northland), and Mr and Mrs C. de Montalk (Lower Hutt) are the guests of Mrs C. W. Ritchie, Johnston Street. Miss Molly Clapshaw and Mr K. Clapshaw are spending a vacation with their parents, Mr and Mrs A. P. A. Clapshaw, Wakefield Street. The funeral of the late Mrs Johanna Fuge took place at the Featherston Cemetery yesterday. The Rev. A. C. Lane (Greytown) officiated at the service held at the house and at the graveside. The pall-bearers (all grandsons of the deceased), were Messrs L. R., W. J., F. G., M. and A. Fuge, and F. Ford. A large number of beautiful floral tributes were received. The late Mrs Fuge had been a resident of the district for 70 years, most of which time she lived at Kahutara. She leaves a family of two daughters (Mrs J. Cross, Featherston, and Mrs N. B. Lawrie, Auckland), find five sons, Messrs N. B. (Taita), G. B. and E. W. (Kaiwaiwai), J. W. and G. P. Fuge (Kahutara). There are 21 grand-] children and 9 great-grandchildren. Popular Camping Ground. The local camping ground is taxed to capacity. There has riot, beeri such a large number of cars and caravans in the reserve since pre-war days. Patriotic Dance. The patriotic dance committee will hold a dance in the Town Hall, Featherston, on Saturday night at which there will be a number of special features. and novelty dances. The music; will be supplied by Mrs Ashton’s Orchestra. A capable committee is making a special effort to see that patrons spend a thoroughly enjoyable time. COSY THEATRE “TROPIC HOLIDAY.” At the Cosy Theatre tonight there will be shown the: brilliant musical comedy, “Tropic Holiday.” starring Dorothy Lamour, Ray Milland, Bob Burns and Binnie Barnes. The associate picture, “The Ghost Breakers,” is an excellent comedy, with Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard in the chief roles.
