MASTERTON PARK CLUB GAMES. CHAMPIONSHIPS REACHING FINALS. With the holiday season and its various tournaments over, interest is once again centred by members of the Masterton Park Bowling Club in the various championship games, which are now reaching the final stages. Results are:— Singles: Trevorrow beat E. 'Brown: Simpson beat Stimpson; Kilgour beat Ferguson; Jenkins beat Shearer; Trevorrow beat Kilgour. Pairs: Moore and Kilgour beat Griffiths and Spackman. Handicap singles: Rossiter (10) beat Spackman (2), 25/18; Jones (14) beat Reader (4), 29/24; Osborne (scr.) beat Drummond (4), 27/14. Champion fours: To be played on Saturday. Kelly Cup (Colts’ pairs): Price and Freeman (s) Masterton, defeated the holders, Maxted and Rossiter, Park. 22/17, after a very interesting game. Masterton led 10/1 on the 7th end, but the score on the 19th was 18/16. Craft Medals: Spackman, Wallis, Andrews, Simpson (s) retained these by defeating Stimpson, Moore, E. Brown and G. Brown, 21/15. Members are reminded of the social evening for ladies to be held on Saturday next. ' ,
MASTERTON CLUB. NOTES BY “THE BOWLER.” Wall Cup: This cup was given by Mr Charles Wall, a prominent bowler, for competition between the “colts” of the Masterton and Park clubs. A challenge match was played last week' on the Park green between the holders, Ewan, Gerard, Rossiter and Stimpson (s), of the Park Club, and the challengers, Henson, Blennerhassett, Price and Freeman (s), of the Masterton Club. After a most enjoyable game, the Masterton team proved victorious by 31 to 15. CLUB COMPETITIONS. These competitions are played on the two-life system, and up to date the positions are as follows: — Champion singles: W. Reid, W. Davies, J. Campbell, and G. Hayne, each two lives. Price, Graham, Henderson, Christian, Percy and Stubbings, one life each. Champion pairs' D. Thomson and W. Christian (s), H. Thomas and J. Campbell (s), each two lives. W. Davies and W. Hendry (s), H. H. Daniell and F. Percy (s), G. Hayne and G. Beecroft (s), Bannister and E. Reid (s). Holdsworth and Chapman (s), each one life.
