GERMAN OFFENSIVE IN YUGOSLAVIA ACCORDING TO PARTISAN LEADER. PATRIOT FORCES ATTACKING. (By Telegraph—-Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.0 a.m.) LONDON, December 19. The German offensive in Yugoslavia lias broken down, says a special communique from General Tito, broadcast by the Algiers radio. It adds that Yugoslav forces are counter-attacking south-west of Zagreb and that the Partisans have also passed to the offensive in several other localities. A strong enemy column in Croatia was decimated and Germans in Bosnia were compelled to withdraw eastward.
VIOLENT FIGHTING
WAR MATERIAL TAKEN FROM GERMANS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.0 a.m.) RUGBY, December 19. Fighting of extreme violence is taking place in Eastern and South-West Bosnia, resulting in the capture of valuable war materials, states a communique of the Yugoslav People’s Liberation Army. In one clash the Partisans captured much booty, including fourteen machine-guns, one trench mortar, 100 rifles, 40,000 rounds of ammunition and a wireless station. In anothei' they occupied the railway station of Piskavice, on the Benjaulka line, capturing eight machine-guns, two mortars and 35 rifles. They also derailed two enemy military trains, which resulted in the death of a number of Germans and a dislocation of communications.
