THIRD INGLESIDE
WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY. SUCCESSFUL GATHERING LAST NIGHT. The Wairarapa Caledonian Society last night held in the Masonic Hall,. Masterton, the third Ingleside this season for members and their friends. The warm atmosphere of friendship in the hall was in marked contrast to the cold night. The gathering was well attended. For the dancing bright music was supplied by'Mr J. Barnes s orchestra, that for the foursome and eightsome reels being provided by Pipe Major Murdoch McKenzie. The haggis, which was made by Mrs Bell, was carried on a plate around the hall in the usual ceremonial manner. Pipe Major McKenzie led the procession, the president, Mr Jock McKenzie, carrying the haggis and the past president, Mr H. E. Pither, followed with the long knife. The directors of the society followed. Mr Jock McKenzie gave a splendid address to the haggis. Supper was served by the directors and> many willing helpers. The M’s.C., Messrs J. W. Henderson and J. J. Hunter, kept proceedings moving with a swing. Those present considered the gathering to have been a most enjoyable one.
