BACH DESTROYED
FIRE IN NGAUMUTAWA ROAD. An old wooden bach in Ngaumutawa Road, Masterton, was destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. It was believed to be unoccupied. The Masterton Fire Brigade received a call at 3.27 p.m. and two engines and seven men were despatched to the scene. As no water was available and the bach was blazing fiercely when the brigade arrived, nothing could be done to save the building. The property on which the bach was situated is owned by the State and is leased by Joe Yee for market gardening purposes.
