DESTROYED BY GREEK GUERILLAS ONLY RAILWAY ROUTE LOST TO AXIS. ON ROUTE THROUGH GREECE. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, Noon.) CAIRO. December 11. Greek guerillas, by a ruse, destroyed the vital Gorgopotomas Bridge, 50 miles south of Larissa. Other guerillas fought a battle against guards, for four hours, to enable their comrades to destroy the bridge without. interruption. The bridge is 180 feet high and 500 feet long and carries the railway over the Heallada River io Athens. The guerillas thus cut the only railway route for the Axis transport of troops and supplies through Greece to Crete. Southern Italy. Sicily and North Africa. The A'xis can now use only the Larissa-Alamia Road which is indifferent even in the most favourable seasons.

It is recalled that the Gorgopotomas Bridge was blown up during the imperial troops' retreat in Greece and took five months to repair.
