OBITUARY
MR JOHN SPICER. A well known resident of Carterton, Mr John Spicer, died yesterday afternoon at the residence of his daughter, Mrs E. G. Price, Walton’s Avenue, Masterton. He was born in Kent, England, 90 years ago, and arrived in New Zealand with his wife in 1874. After having resided in Wellington and Featherston for short periods he settled in Carterton . His wife predeceased him about 45 years ago. Mr Spicer is survived by 3 sons, Messsrs Wm. and E. Spicer (Carterton) and John Spicer (Halcombe), and three daughters, Masdames E. G. Price (Masterton), R. Murray (Martinborough), and W. Abbot (Feilding). The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving the residence of Mrs Price. 31 Walton’s Avenue, following a service at 11 a.m. for the Clareville Cemetery.
