REVOLT IN ALBANIA

DRASTIC ITALIAN MEASURES FAIL. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, November 25. The Italians’ quisling leaders in Albania are imposing incessant drastic measures, but are failing to curb the Albanians’ discontent and .animosity, says the “Daily Telegraph’s” Istanbul correspondent. Demonstrations against the Italians at Tirana are frequent. Guerillas daringly penetrated the guarded capital and compelled the Blackshirt militia to retreat. They killed 167 Italian soldiers, and camped in a churchyard in the centre of the city. The Italian authorities at Tirana are baffled because public servants who had sworn loyalty to the Fascist regime are now helping the insurgents. Two battalions of Albanian militia from Koritza mutinied, fled to the mountains with their equipment, and joined the guerillas.
