OBITUARY

MR T. KILGARRIFF. The death occurred recently at Palmerston North of Mr Thomas Kilgarriff, Fitzherbert West, Palmerston North. Mr Kilgarriff was born at Milton, Otago, ’ sixty-two years ago. He came to the Wairarapa, where he was well known, in 1905 and resided here until nine years ago when he purchased a farm at Fitzherbert West, which he farmed up till the time of his death. He leaves a widow, two sons, Messrs John (Hawera) and T. M. Kilgarriff (Palmerston North) and one daughter, Mrs Jas. Tulloch (Masterton). The youngest son, Pte. J. M. Kilgarriff, died .in Greece last year. There are six grandchildren. Mr Kilgarriff is also survived by five sisters and two brothers, all of whom live in Dunedin. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Palmerston North, by the Rev. Father Hughes and sung by the children’s choir. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Monsignor McManus and the Forresters' service was read by Bro. C. Edwards, of Court Manawatu. A profusion of beautiful wreaths testified to the popularity of the late Mr Kilgarriff. The pall bearers were Messrs J. and T. M. Kilgarriff (sons), J. Tulloch (son-in-law), E. Wishnowsky, J. Reilly and T. Gretton. There was a representative attendance when the funeral left for the Palmerston North Cemetery. MR W. S. TODD. The death occurred last night of Mr Walter Sanderson Todd, at the age of 87 years. The late Mr Todd, who was born in Scotland, came to New Zealand 44 years ago and had spent most of his time since his arrival in this country in the Wairarapa. He was a gardener by occupation and was well known in Eketahuna. At one time he was a prominent Mason. He had been an inmate of the Buchanan Home since 1926 and had been in ill health for some time. The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving the Chapel of Hyde s Funeral Service Ltd., following a service at 2 p.m. for the Master ton Cemetery:
