WAR PROSPECTS
RATHER GLOOMY VIEW TAKEN BY THE LONDON “DAILY MAIL.” ALLIES “FULLY EXTENDED.” (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 15. The “Daily Mail,” in a leading article, says: “Rommel is making a push bearing all the signs of a comeback. He has turned the British flank and forced us on the defensive. In Russia the Germans are again moving in a big way. “The tempo of the German 1942 offensive is quietly gathering speed, and the British and Russian armies are fully extended in holding it. These facts serve as a useful reminder that the war is not yet won. Our recentlyrenewed honeymoon with optimism on a grander scale is drawing to a close.”
