COLLEGE BOARD
MEETING OF GOVERNORS. TREE PLANTING PROPOSALS. The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa College Board of Governors was held last night, the chairman, Mr W. R. Nicol, presiding over a full attendance of members. The matter of making contact with students in camp was left to the education committee with a view to an effort to encourage these students to continue their studies. It was pointed out that free tuition was available at the College. The appointment of a librarian vzas left to the - education committee. The Trust Lands Trust was heartily thanked for its grants of £75 and £26 towards the College library. It was decided that as from the first term in 1943 all boarding fees be the same. The board agreed to make representations to the Education Department to put forward the Public Service and Matriculation examinations a fortnight, so as to free student labour for farm work during the busy period. The works committee was requested, to go into the matter of tree planting on the College grounds and to report to the next meeting.
