RECEIVED IN MALAYA. NOTED JAPANESE AIRMAN. LONDON, January 4. Tokio authorities state that Masaaki linuwara, the famous pilot who flew to London in record time in 1937, was severely wounded by British gunfire in northern Malaya, but, however, managed to reach his base.’ Later Tokio radio announced that he had died of his wounds. linuwara, with Kenji Tsukoshi, in the “Divine Wind,” flew 10,000 miles from Tokio to Croydon in 94 hours 18 minutes. CALL ON MANPOWER PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT'S PROCLAMATION. ENSURING FINAL VICTORY. LONDON, January 5. In the United States President Roosevelt has issued a proclamation naming February 16 as military registration day for all men between 20 and 45 years of age. In his proclamation, Mr Roosevelt said this registration and others would be necessary to ensure victory final and swift. NON=RIGID AIRSHIPS PATROLLING AMERICAN . COASTS. LONDON. January 5. It is announced by the United States Navy Department, that non-rigid airships are to be used to patrol coastal waters.
