LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST WESTERLIES CONTINUE. WITH RAIN IN THE RANGES. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Strong north-westerly winds, still reaching gale force at times in exposed positions. Some rain in the ranges, but elsewhere fair and warm. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Westerly weather probably continuing. LOCAL REPORTS. Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 29.7; shade temperature, maximum, ■ 72.2; minimum, 60.8,teires trial, 56.1; sunshine, 6 hours 12 minutes; rain, i point.
