FAMINE IN NORWAY

DETAILS OF ACUTE DEARTH COUNTRY STRIPPED OF FOOD BY NAZIS. MILITARY MONOPOLY OF TRANSPORT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.35 p.m.) LONDON, November 17. The food position in Norway is steadily growing worse, reports the Norwegian telegraph agency. A reduction of bread and margarine rations, a dearth of fish and milk and an almost complete absence of meat have been followed by a severe shortage of potatoes. The shortage is due to lack of transport, because the Germans are using transport facilities for military purposes, and also to lack of labour, as a result of the Germans employing thousands of workers on defence works.
