WAR SAVINGS
REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, November 16. The grand total achieved in the second year of the war savings campaign, which began on November 22, 1940, shows an increase of over 30 per cent on the total at the end of the first year. The figures, are: Second year, £589,070,587; first year, £448,153,275. Savings groups in England,. Wales and Scotland are rapidly nearing the 250.000 mark. With 1327 groups affiliated last week, the total is now 245,619. The campaign last week raised £12,057,023.
