Mr and Mrs F. M. Reynolds have returned to Masterton after having attended the Presbyterian General Assembly at Timaru. Mr Phineas Levi, doyen of the Wellington bar, is today celebrating his 83rd birthday. Mr Levi has in recent years lived in Napier. It is expected that the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, will visit Masterton next weekend to witness the Interhouse display. •Mr W. K. Dick, of the Department of Justice, Wellington, took up duties in Masterton this morning as deputy-clerk of the Court in succession to Mr J. C. Corbishley, who is now attached to the National Service Department. The funeral of the late Mr Hans Carl Thomsen took place in Masterton yesterday afternoon, and was largely attended. Services were-conducted at the residence and graveside by the Rt. Rev. John Davie. The pall-bearers were Messrs B. F. Wallis, T. Wallis, J. C. Fisher, R. J. Munn, J. Connors and G. H. Hultenberg.
