JUDGING DAY

FIXED FOR DECEMBER 6. BOYS’ AND GIRLS’ AGRICULTURAL CLUBS. At a meeting of the committee of the Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural clubs held in Masterton there were present: Messrs C. McLauchlan, L. A. Keats, F. J. Clarke, F. .C. Brockett and the secretary, O. V. Berry. The secretary reported that the entries for all competitions were very good and that the Masterton group this year would have the largest number of entries. This was very encouraging and it was hoped that parents would attend on the judging day. So that parents could be present it was decided to hold the judging this year on Saturday, December G, commencing at 11 a.m. Tea will be provided for parents and friends and soft drinks for the children. Mr F. C. Brockett was appointed chief steward. The hope was expressed that the committees of all schools participating in the competitions would forward donations early as funds were needed to carry on the work. The following donations have already been received: —Solway, 10s; Matahiwi, 10s; F. C. Brockett. ss. In the Calf and Lamb Clubs' competitions to be held on the Solway Showgrounds on Saturday, December 6, there will be the following classes:— (a) dairy type (pedigree), (b) dairy type (grade), (c) care and handling, (cl) special for junior classes, (e) champion calf on ground (Woolworth Cup), (f) best black-faced lamb, (g) best white-faced lamb.
