' MASTERTON CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING ELECTION OF OFFICERS. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. The annual meeting of the Masterton Amateur Athletic Club was held in Masterton on Thursday night. Mr A. Wyeth presided over a good attendance. Mr W. M. Sellar, who is serving overseas with the Royal New Zealand Air Force, was elected a life member of the. club. It was decided to invest the sum of £2O in a National Saving Account. Eight new members were elected. The season will be opened on November 1 26. Officers were elected as follows: — Patron, Mr G. IV. Sellar; president, Mr A. Wyeth; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Robertson, M.P., G. R. Sykes, J. J. Ewington, A. G. Talbot, J. M. James, A. V. Faulknor, W. S. L. Dickson, N. R. Wyeth, R. E. Baker, F. Dohnt, A. Corskie, C. Williams; hon. secretary, Mr J. Nyhan; hon. treasurer, Mr B. R. McPherson; handicapper, Mr W. Grantham; starter, Mr W. A. C. Pullar; assistant starter, Mr F. Williams; club captain, Mr A. Welphy; committee, Messrs E. Grantham, R. Read, J. Harrington, W. Pullar, and F. Williams; publicity officer, Mr E. Grantham; auditor, Mr R. Gully. At the conclusion of the meeting the president presented the trophies won during the season to the following competitors:—Most improved junior, D. Minifie; junior points prize, E. Jaspers; junior field event points prize, E. Jaspers; junior flat events points prize, M. Doyle. M. Doyle was also the winner of the W. A. C. Pullar Cup, and the junior 100 yards championship.
