WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING AT KAHUTARA. ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kahutara Women’s Institute was held on Tuesday when Mrs Elbe presided over a good attendance. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Henderson, Sinclair, Welch and Harland. A new member was welcomed. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mesdames Welch and Juno in their recent illnesses. It was decided to hold a Christmas tree gathering in December. Mrs Pope gave the thought for the day. Mrs Fenwick read an interesting report of the Federation meeting held in Carterton. The competitions resulted as follows: Best arranged jam jar of flowers, Mrs Fope 1, Mrs Duffy 2; best bloom, Mrs Fenwick 1, Mrs Pottinger 2. The hostesses were Mesdames Cade, Hood, Senr.. and Pope. i ■ Personal Items. Mrs Moffat and Mrs Worsfold, Wellington, are the guests of Mrs McKenna, Pahautea. Word has been received that Miss Norma Shepherd, formerly a pupil of the Wairarapa College, had passed her examination for the second year of the Medical course at the Otago University.
