KNOX CHURCH

LADIES’ SOCIAL GUILD. The final meeting of the year of the Knox Ladies’ Social Guild was held in the garden at the residence of Mrs Gaskin, Colombo Road, Mrs G. W. Morice presiding over a large attendance of members. As a mark of sympathy to the relatives of the late Mr Burling the members stood in silence for a few moments. It was decided to send a letter of congratulation to the Right Rev. J. Davie on his splendid address at Assembly. Mrs Morice wished members the season's greetings, and hoped that they would all meet again next year. Mrs Welsh, on behalf of the Guild presented Mrs Morice with a beautiful bunch of roses, and Mrs Pickering with a shoulder spray. A treasure hunt was won by Miss Ibbetson. Afternoon tea was served. Votes of thanks were passed to Mrs Gaskin for the use of her garden and to the hostesses, Mesdames Gaskin, Malmo and Joseph. A successful bring-and buy stall was held in aid of the Chaplain’s fund.
