ENEMY PARTY
SURPRISED AT TOBRUK. POLES ATTACK WITH BAYONET. LONDON, November 14. At Tobruk yesterday a Polish patrol from the garrison surprised an enemy party constructing anti-tank defences and attacked it with the bayonet. There was no air activity at Tobruk. A Cairo communique states that the Poles inflicted many casualties with the bayonet and that five Italians were captured. Four of our patrol were slightly woundedi “In other sectors,” it is added, “our patrols operated freely without meeting any of the enemy. “In the frontier area normal patrol activities continued.”
