HOMEWARD BOUND
MR ATTLEE & CAPTAIN BALFOUR. ACCOMPANIED RY AMERICAN ENVOY. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.25 a.m.) WASHINGTON, November 14. Mr C. R. Attlee and Captain Balfour departed by clipper from London. With them was a member of the House of Representatives, Mr Snyder, chairman of the House Military Appropriations Committee, who said he was travelling as a representative of the War Department on a special mission. It was revealed that he is carrying a letter from President Roosevelt to Mr Winston Churchill. 'Captain Balfour said he had consulted United States officials regarding Russian aid and had had an entirely successful mission.
