Rigid Economic Control in Indo-China STATEMENT BY THAILAND OFFICIAL NO DEMAND FOR BASES MADE BY ANY COUNTRY x LONDON, August 12. The Japanese Government continues its warlike preparations. A decree issued in Indo-China has prohibited the export cf all merchandise except to Japan. . The Thailand ConsuLGeneral in Singapore has denied a report that any country is making a request for bases in Thailand. Military movements outside his country, he said, did not concern Thailand.
