NATIONAL PARTY
GREYTOWN BRANCHES. ANNUAL MEETINGS. ("Times-Age" Special.) There were large enthusiastic attendances at the annual meetings of the Greytown Women's branch of the National Party and also at the Greytown’s men's branch. Miss E. F. Eagar presided over the women's meeting and reported on the work carried out during the year. A strong committee was appointed with Miss Eagar as president (re-elected) and Mrs F. C. Bunny as secretary (reelected). The men’s meeting was presided over by Mr J. F. Thompson, who outlined the activities of the Party during the year. He acknowledged the splendid work done by the women. The Wairarapa National candidate would be selected very shortly and the Party was ready to tight an election with great confidence. A large committee was elected with Mr J. F. Thompson (chairman) re-elected, and Mr Roy Knowles as secretary. Delegates to the electorate committee also for selection of the candidate were appointed.
The chairman, in moving a vote of sympathy to the relatives of the late Mr Thomas Orr. paid a tribute to Mr Orr's work for the National Party. The motion was carried in silence.
