TWO DEATHS FROM SICKNESS. NEW ZEALAND FORCES OVERSEAS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The following casualties in the N.Z.E.F. were announced last night:— Major Frederick John Brook, died of sickness, February 19, 1941; next-of-kin. Mrs 1., G. Brook. Beaumont (wife). Gunner Leslie David Eldred Cordes, died of sickness, February 19. 1941; next-of-kin, Mrs E, Cordes. Box 85, Fairlie (mother). AIRMAN MISSING. FROM OPERATIONS IN EGYPT. ißy Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI. February 21. Official advice has been received by his parents, Mr and Mrs J. McMillan, Anzac Parade. Wanganui, that Sergeant Gunner John McMillan, aged 24, is reported missing from air operations in Egypt on February 16. Sergeant McMillan joined the Royal Air Force and entered training at Levin on December 18. 1939, later going on to Ohakea. He left New Zealand in March. 1940. He was stationed in England for nine months, and just before Christmas was transferred to Malta, then going on to Egypt. He was educated at Wanganui East School and Wanganui Technical College. He worked in the Railways Department as a porter in Aramoho and Hunterville. His brother is in the British Army and was formerly in India.
