HANDSOME PATRIOTIC FUND DONATION. BUILDING LAND IN COLLEGE STREET. A section in College Street of just over a quarter of an acre in area has been donated by Mr W. Nops. of Masterton, for patriotic purposes, half the proceeds to go to the National Patriotic Fund and half to the Provincial Patriotic Fund. The local Patriotic Committee has decided to raffle the section, which is worth between £2OO and £250, the tickets to be sold at 2s 6d each. This course is to be permitted under new regulations which are being prepared. Mr Jordan, referring to the matter this morning, said Mr Nops had given him the choice of all unsold sections in College Street, and lie had made a selection. He wished to thank Me Nops for his generosity, which was another example of his public-spirited citizenship.
