MARTINBOROUGH

WEDDING ON SATURDAY SMITH—RONALDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) A pretty wedding of wide local interest took place in the Presbyterian Church on Saturday afternoon, when Clarice Isabel, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. H. Ronalds, "Fairlie,” was married to William Aitchison, elder son of Mr and Mrs R. Smith. “Waihenga.”

The Rev John Mann performed the ceremony and Mrs Mann played the wedding music. The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The bride was escorted by her father, and was attired in a charming gown of deep cream crepe satin with long sleeves and slightly trained, the only .ornament being an exquisite antique cameo brooch. A topknot of orange blossom held the tulle veil in place, and she carried a sheaf of cream lilies, roses, carnations and maidenhair fern.

In attendance were Miss Nola Ronalds (the bride’s sister), chief, and Miss Marion Smith (the bridegroom’s sister). Both were attired in frocks of powder blue with puff sleeves, finished with a row of tiny buttons down the back. The skirts were very full and velvet sashes were worn. Fus-chia-toned orchids composed the topknots and bouquets. Mr lan Nicol was best man, and Mr Keith Ronalds groomsman. The ushers were Messrs G. Ronalds and G Soughtton.

During the signing of the register Mrs T. Boyd sang "Just for Today.” A large number of guests were afterwards entertained at a buffet breakfast in the Parish Hall. Mrs Ronalds wore a wine ensemble with hat to match, and carried a posy to tone. Mrs R. Smith was attired in a black ensemble with touches of white and her posy was in autumn tonings. Mr and Mrs Smith left later by car for their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a Marina blue model frock and edge-to-edge coat, with summer felt hat and accessories to match
