DURATION OF WAR
“MATTER OF MATHEMATICS.” ACCORDING TO NAZI OPTIMISTS. (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, September 26. The Copenhagen correspondent of •the “Daily Express” says the duration of the war is merely a matter of mathematics, according to the Nazis, who claim that the British fleet can be eliminated at the rate of five battleships a month. With the whole fleet sunk the war would be as good as over. The Nazis say that to sink one battleship costs them roughly 200 planes., A battleship takes three years to build, whereas Germany can produce 100 pianos a month.
