RACING CLUB MONTHLY MEETING OF STEWARDS. (‘‘Times-Age’' Special.) At the monthly meeting of the stewards of the Wairarapa Racing Club there were present Messrs J. W. Card (chairman), D. H. S. Riddiford. A. C. Pearce, C. J. Nix, W. Howard Booth, Roy Donald, E. D. Martin, H. Lawson, R. A. Donald, R. N. Barton, J. G. Donald, and the secretary, N. C. C. Shepherd. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. F. Thompson and D. Cameron. The receipts since the last meeting totalled £45 5s 4d. Accounts amounting to £llO 3s 4d were passed for payment. The Manx Motor Cycle Club wrote asking for permission to hold a motor cycle race meeting at the racecourse. The request was not granted.' One resignation was accepted with regret. It was left in the hands of the chairman to secure a gold cup to be awarded to the winner of the next Wairarapa Cup, also trophies for the trainer and jockey. The chairman reported that he had arranged with an architect in Wellington to go into the matter of extended accommodation at the racecourse. A plan and specifications of paths and drainage improvements was considered, and it was resolved to leave the matter in the hands of the course committee to go into and report to the next meeting. It was resolved to send a letter to Mr D. Cameron expressing sympathy with him in his illness and wishing him a speedy recovery. It was resolved to hold the annual meeting on August 24 at 2 p.m. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs W. Morton. Otaki, were the guests of Mr and Mrs Les. Smith, Pahautea, for the R.S.A. ball. Mrs W. Robertson. Wellington, is paying a short visit to her sister, Mrs Chas. Rea.
