WOOL TROUSERS
FASHIONS IN LONDON. Women in London are wearing trousers more than ever before. What was once considered a passing phase has definitely become a trend that seems likely to increase. It may be the weather, or it may be better styling. but the fact remains that trousers are being worn every day by smart women, both in and out of town, and that that fashion is being taken seriously by designers and the dress trade as a whole was indicated by the lively interest taken in the All-Wool Trouser Show staged at Bush House, London, in March. Wool is the logical textile for women’s trousers. London is greatly interested also in new styles and new light and dainty fabrics for wool evening dresses, the delightful feature of which is the “hang” of the fabric, long recognised to bo possessed only by wool, but until now hardly possible for evening wear. Some of the new wool textiles are described as of gossamer lightness, yet the advantage of natural draping of wool is retail.
