SCOUTS AT SEA
* NEW ZEALANDERS’ TASMAN ■ TRIP. JOYOUS TIME ON LINER. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, December 23. During their journey across the Tasman on the Awatea the members of the New Zealand contingent of 250 Boy Scouts bound for the Jamboree had the freedom of the ship and swarmed like a flock of galahs all over the liner and mingled with the passengers. Upon arrival in Sydney harbour on a bright, warm morning, they were greeted by ferry sirens sounding the “cockadoodledoo.” Most of the boys suffered sea-sick-ness on their first day out from New Zealand, but afterward they found their sea-legs and their appetites set the stewards a merry dance. It was reported yesterday that on account of one of their number contracting measles during the voyage, the New Zealand boys would be isolated at Bradfield camp for 14 days.
