LIGHTNING STRIKES VATICAN. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. VATICAN CITY, December 22. During a violent thunderstorm, lightning struck the Vatican Palace today, smashing the windows of the loggia in the Raphael gallery. The Pope, who was working nearby in his private library, was not affected.
