WEDDINGS

SAYER—WILTON. The marriage took place on Saturday, April 30, at the Knox Presbyterian Church, Masterton, of Edith Maud, second daughter of Mrs and the late Mr William Charles Wilton, and Roy George, third son of Mr and Mrs L. O. Sayer, of Masterton. The Rev J. Davie performed the ceremony. The bride, who entered the church escorted by her uncle, Mr J. Russell, of Wellington, wore a gown of ivory satin marocain with silver trimmings. Her embroidered veil was held in place with a halo Of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouuet of chrysanthemums, dahlias and carnations. '

The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs A. Grimes, Lower Hutt (ma-tron-of-honour) and Miss Mary Sayer, sister of the bridegroom. Both wore frocks of delphinium blue moire taffeta, trimmed with tiny blue velvet bows and wore head-bands of silver ribbon with lemon and blue flowers and carried bouquets to tone. The little flower girl, Eila Carr, niece of the bride, looked very sweet dressed in a dainty lemon taffeta frock with blue velvet sash and carried a ■ silver basket of blue and lemon flowers.

Mr Thomas Sayer, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and Mr Allan Russell, of Wellington, cousin of the bride, was groomsman. A reception was later held at the Empire Hotel. Mrs Wilton, mother of the bride, in a wine ensemble with wine peach bloom hat received the guests. She was assisted by Mrs L. O. Sayer, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a smart navy tailored costume and navy hat to tone. Mr and Mrs R. Sayer later left on a short .tour of the North Island, Mrs Sayer wearing a smart navy frock, coat and accessories to match. Mr and Mrs Sayer will reside in Masterton.

SAYER—COAD. The marriage took place recently at the Oriental Cabaret, Wellington, of Lily Louise, only daughter of Mr and Mrs H. G. Coad, Miramar, Wellington, and Edward Robert, second son of Mr and Mrs L. O. Sayer, Masterton. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a gown of ivory satin cut on simple lines and made with a long scalloped train. The square neck was trimmed with a row of pearls. Her veil was held in place by a tiara of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of white lilies. The bridesmaid, Miss Rita McMullen, wore a delphinium blue satin frock and she carried a bouquet of pink roses and carnations. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Thomas E. Sayer, of Masterton. The Rev Orange officiated. The bride’s mother, wearing a brown ensemble, assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who was attired in a navy and white ensemble, received the guests. Mr and Mrs E. R. Sayer’s future home will be in Lower Hutt.
