Death from Drowning at Eketahuna.

A fatal drowning accident is reported from Ekotahuua. Mr Patrick Mahoney, a well-known resident of Maetertou, who has been staying for some time with his married daughter, Mrs Fogden, on the Parkville settlement, left Eketahuna on Saturday night for the purpose of returniug home. Nothing farther was heard of him till Tuesday morning when his body was fonnd in tbe Makakihi river, a stream that divides Parkville from Eketahuna. Deceased was about 70 years of age. This accident shows the immediate necessity of providing a bridge for the settlers.—Star,
