Mr George Beetbam addreeeed the electors at Tenm on tbe2Brd instant. Mr R. Maunaell presided. His speech was a resume of that delivered at Mastertou a short time ago with bat one or two additions. He advocated the throwing of the education endowments in Canterbury and Otago into one common fund for the beaeM of the whole colony, and in reply to a question respecting the introduction of Kaffirs into the colony as shearers, h$ slated that he thought there ware enough working ueu in the oolong
•bMdj, and therefore was Not in favor of tfc* introduction of Kaffir labor. oaa in favor of taxing abaentoo landowners. He denied that there waa any compact between Mr McCardle aod himself, aa reported, respecting “•supporting of each other tor the Woodville and Maaterton aeata. The ■looting waa one of the largest political ones ever held in Tenui, and his •ddreaa waa moat enthusiastically raee , ved. A vote of thauks was carried unanimously.
