Mr Bunny’s Mouthpieces.
At a very early stage (Jane 29) of elec* total contest in this district, we, referring to the sheet published at Carterton, ostensibly in the interest of Mr Banny, wrote as follows: “We shall no more attempt to bandy brutalities with them than to punch a soot bag or wrestle with a Chinese leper.”
Since those words were written two persons have attempted to “ edit” the sheet in question. Under heading of " Cleansing Them," we published on July ti some extracts from the vocabulary of these two people. A third person is now editing Mr Bunny’s paper. It will be necessary to publish some specimens of his language, but our readers will please to understand that we will no more attempt to bandy brutalities with this third person than with any irreclaimably drunken vagabond who might insult ns in the street.
