Evening Post Earthquake.
We knew something unfortunate would happen to the Wairarapa immediately we saw that the Evening Post was commencing to interest itself in the affaire of the dietrict by telling the electors how they should vote during the ensuing election. We were not prepared, however, for what has happened. The ‘Evening Post’ people on or about the night of July 12 raised an earthquake on their own account and bodily si lifted Martinborough some twenty miles from its previous location and plumped it down within sniff' of the boiling down factory of Messrs Williams and Beetham. If our readers doubt this statement let them look at the map published as a Supplement to the ‘ Evening Post’ of July 12. Moreover the ‘ Evening Post ’ people have stolen Gladstone or otherwise disposed of it, for it does not appear on the map. Are we not right in recommending tho Editor of the Post to severely mind his own business when he overlooks such muddles as this. In future he will do well to attend to the geography of Willis and Panama streets, Wellington, and leave both the politics and geography of the Wairarapa to tale care of thorn* ives.
