Pastoral Society.
The general committee of the Wairarapa and East Coast Pastoral Society have appointed Mr Burton Buys to be VicePresident in place of Mr James Stuckey, who, while remaining a member of the Society, has been obliged to resign that position. Tbe committee have made several additions to their list of gold and silver medals and other prizes, and have decided to establish several new classes of exhibits which, as will be seen from the programme about to be published, are intended specially to encourage entries from smaller settlers. The Society has received several promises of special prizes for their Show on 2nd November, Settlers and others desiring to become members should write to the Secretary at Carterton.
