Greytown Butter & Cheese Factory.
A meet ins; of the Directors of the above company was held at the company’s office on the lf)tli instant. Present —Messrs W. C. Buchanan, Cull’, Sc. George, Heagerty, and the acting secretary. The returns from the porcine branch of the establishment showed a deficit. Various accounts were jiaesed for paymeat, amounting in all to £7 6s 6d. Letters were read from Messrs Thos. Brydone, of Dunedin, and Michael Rorke (both interested in dairy factories), advocating, in the present low rates of the colonial markets, the shipment oi cheese to England. The comjrauy decided to take no steps in the matter. A gentleman in the district offered to take half a ton of cheese at 4Jd per lb., and the cheese so bought he would dispatch to test the Home market. In the event of a profit accruing above the Aid and expenses he would hand it over I to the company. Correspondence was read from Messrs Thomas and Co, re supply of cheese.
