Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade.

A meeting of the members of the Greytown Fire Brigade was held last night, Capt Maguire in the chair.

A letter was read from the Secretary of the Carterton Fire Brigade inviting the Greytown Biigade to take part in the competition and procession on Jubilee day (Monday), at Carterton. It was resolved on the motion of Fireman Gardener, seconded by Fireman R. Grigg, That as many members of the Brigade as possible proceed to Carterton on Monday to take part in the demonstration, It was resolved that the Brigade decline to compete on the occasion, as the members were not aware of such competition taking place in time for practice for that purpose. In reference to the request of the Chair man of the School Committee, it was resolved that the Brigade undertake the dance at the Town Hall on Tuesday night after the children’s festival, providing the School Oomv mHtee engage the hall lor 12 p.m. and that the hall be ava ! 'able for dancing at 6 o’clock, and the proceeds go to the funds of the Brigade.

Messrs Q. Haigh and T. 0. Udy were elected members of the Brigade.
