Greytown Fire Brigade.
The Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigado held its usual moutlily meeting ou Monday night. Lieut Bowers (in the unavoidable absence of Captain Maguire) in the chair, and a good attendance of members. The Secretary, Mr C. Higgins, road the minutes of the previous meeting, which were confirmed.
A email account was passed for payment. The Secret ary road the correspondence for the mouth, and announced the arrival of the certificates (very handsome ones) to be presented ou behalf of the United Fire Brigades’ Association to members entitled to them through long service and efficiency It was resolved that the Brigade hold a torchlight procession to the Town Hall on Monday night next (concert night), providing the Bra c s Band would take part. A vote of thanks was passed to Fireman A. E. Gardener for his elforts rewards the last torchlight procession. The Secretary was instructed to ascertain the cost of one dozen swinging torchlights. It was resolved to reply to the Mastertou Volunteer Fire Brigade that the photographer would attend ou Saturday next at noon, to take the group consisting of the winning team at the late comjxjtitiou.
