Dreadful Accident on a Railway Line.
Christchurch, Mr; 25. About 6.30 this evening the train going from Christchurch to Heatbcote ran over a man named Bichard Bennett, near Heatbcote Racecourse. His left foot wag cut off, and the flesh stripped from knee to ankle on the other leg. tie was slightly intoxicated, and walked in front of the train in the dark. Notwithstanding his frightful injuries he seems likely to recover.
