Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade.

The members of the Fire Brigade held their quarterly meeting at their meeting room on Monday night, Capt Maguire in the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was loceivcd from the Town Lands Trust, granting permis sion to the Fire Brigade to erect an addition to their premises. A small account was passed for payment. On tho proposition of Lieut Bowers it was resolved to obtain six extra buckets and three candle lanterns for the use of tho Brigade.

Lieut Phillips proposed that the Secretary request all members and ex-members to render an account of all articles belonging to tho Brigade in their charge ; also requesting exmembers to return tho same as it is necessary that a correct estimate of the value of the Brigade’s property should be arrived at.

Seconded by Branchman Quin, and agreed to. Seven members who have left the district were struck off the roll, but it was understood that if they desired re-instalment at any time and could attend they could be again accepted as members.

It was resolved that the Secretary write to Captain Page, of the Wellington Fire Brigade, and ask him to kindly furnish the Brigade with any price lists ef manual engines lie may have on hand or at his disposal. Some other routine business wa* transacted and the proceedings ter* minated.
