Greytown Hospital Soiree.

A mooting of (ho cc-nmi'lce who managed and carried out the recent Hospital Soiree, was held at Mr F. H. Wood's office on Tuesday Tho»o present were Mesdaraes Kaye, Spratt, J. Tully, Taylor, F. H. Wood; Misses Spratt and Wyett; Messrs K. H. Wood (in the chair), Cuff, Haines and Tate. The hon. Secretary submitted his report and balance sheet. The latter stated that the actual profit of the soiree was £l2 13s 3d, and that when the Government subsidy of 21s to the £ was added there would be an addition of £29 to the hospital funds as a result of the soiree. It was also mentioned that the greatest number of tickets were sold respectively by, Mrs Bey £2 12s Gd, and Mr John Bidwill £3 7s Cd ; the Lower Valley residents being especially good with their support in this respect. The balance sheet showed that (ho receipts were £2B 10s, and the expenditure £l9 4s 9d, leaving a surplus of £9 5s 3d, which, when several refunded amounts were added, made up the credit of£l2 13s 3d. The report and balance sheet as rendered were adopted, and after votes of thanks were passed to the ladies for their invaluable aid, to the proprietor of the Standaed, to Mr M. K. Yarnham, Mrs 8. M. Maxton and Sons, the Greytown Trust Lands, and the hon. Secretary, each of whom bad given kind assistance, the meeting closed with the customary acknowledgement to the chairman.
