London, April 15. A meeting of the Australian delegates to , i>>; Imperial Conference took place yesterday. Ai i r a lengthy discussion, it was agreed that 1 nut ten extra warships were required for (he defence of Australasian ports, the annual cost of which would be £IOO,OOO, England hearing one-half the expense, and the remainder being borne by the colonies in proportion to population. Subscriptions to the Imperial Institute ate coming in slowly, but it is expected that the requisite amount will be obtained. The Government intend to propose a grant of £1,000,000. The wool market continues firm. At today’s colonial wool auctions 11,800 bales were offered. Up to the present date 10,000 bales have been withdrawn. Sydney, April 15. Wheat is selling at from 3s 3d to 3s 8d pet bushel; oats, from 2s to 2s 4d; maize, per ofilbs, 3s 3d to 3s 9d.
