Female Suffrage.
To the Editor of the Standard. Sin,—ln your issue of Friday, 15th April, we notice a contemptible latter on Woman’s Suffrage, written by a husband, who must be a mean, tyrannical ereatuu. and moreover, he toast be much impressed by the power he tries to deprecate, as he has proved by this spiteful attack. Words fail to express our scorn for this ignorant husband’s effusion, which is a string of mis-statements and contradictions, with one exception, viz., “ That where there is ignorance grave errors follow,” and he fully exemplifies this remark in his own case. He must allow us to inform him that in permitting ladies to vote you do not give them the “ guidance of State affairs,” but give them the privilege of assisting the men to choose a real man to represent us all, and as ladies are proverbially the best judges of true real men, the reason is obvious. This poor creature, not content with bis tirade against women, concludes with a vicious little attack on Sir Julius Yogel and Mr Ballance, accusing them of the ignorance which he himself so plainly labours under. Mr Editor, we will consider this husband crushed, and subscribe ourselves, A Family Conclave.
