Taratahi-Carterton Road Board.
Tbe usual monthly meeting was held on Saturday. Messrs Boys, Id. K Runny, Booth. Eraitbwaite, Dorset, Stevens, Parker, Raynor being present. A request was received from Mr Cuff to continue tbe gates on Chester aud Norfolk roads. The Board resolved to request him to remove tbe gale from Cnester road and to make tbe gate ob the Norfolk road so that it could be easily opened and shut for horsemen.
Mr F. Gray asked for the services cf She surveyor to have the fence on his property at Hughes Line pot in at the proper boundary.
It was moved, seconded and carried that Messrs Bunny, Dorset aod the Chairman be a committee to inspect the place in company with the surveyor, and if they thought the services of the surveyor were required to employ him to do it.
Mr C. Phillips waited on the Board in reference to miking a rosd through section 2ifi, Waiuhine Valley and also in n fetence to th p Orevtown-Matatawa Biidge.
The B iard sympathised with the deputation, hut could not do anything in the mat* ten.
Mr Eiley waited upon the Board in repaid tn a mad to his | her, and was informed that lie would shortly be within the boundary of the new borough and bad better wait. Mr Jans Jensen wrote in resuect to some bushfalliug on the line of road leading to his property in the Waingawa Gully. It was resolved to ask Mr Jensen to come to the next meeting of (he Bo ird. The Warden lor No. 5 watd was derated to arrange about having a bridge winch had been destroyed by the late fires at Dalefield re-erected.
Mr Surrenson was allowed L2 10- consideration for cleaning out a drain in I’aik road. The following lenders wetc accepted for forming, metalling ami culverts, Somerset road —C E Oliver, 12s per chain. Metalling Woodland road—E. Butler, 21s do. Formation and metalling, Op.kaia road—J. Eaton, LIS 10a the job. Cleaning out drain on Olivet's Line. Waibakclie -8 Oats, LG Accounts were passed and the meeting adjourned.
